It contains very high levels of its active ingredients with 5200mg of Glucosamine HCL, 1000mg of Chondroitin, 100mg of Hyaluronic acid and 1000mg of OptiMSM. K9 Level 5000 also contains additional ingredients which are described as providing cutting-edge joint these include Aquamin® Algae mineral blend, and Bromelain a protein-digestive enzyme to help reduce swelling. It also contains grape seed extract and Boswellia for antioxidant support. Dosage begins at ½ teaspoon for dogs under 10lbs increasing to 2 teaspoons in the morning and 2 in the afternoon for dogs over 100lbs.

Whereas other joint supplements tend to contain one or two of the active ingredients within this product, K9 level 5000 not only contains glucosamine and chondroitin but also hyaluronic acid and MSM making this a very comprehensive product. Of particular interest are the extremely high levels of active ingredients found in K9 Level 5000 as compared to competitive products. Levels of glucosamine can range from 100 to 1000 in other products whereas K9 Level 5000 contains 5200mg. Similarly its levels of chondroitin, and MSM are at the higher range. This product is therefore highly competitive in terms of price and amount of active ingredients. It may however me more suitable for pet owners requiring advance joint care.
